The scoring for top ranked participants is calculated as follows:

Let's look at the top 20 men and top 10 women of last year, and consider how many of them took part in a given race. The grading for the top participants will be the following:

Women

1. 10 pts.

2.   8 pts.

3.   6 pts.

4.   5 pts.

5.   4 pts.

6-7. 3 pts.

8-9. 2 pts.

10. 1 pt.

Men

1.    18 pts.

2.    14 pts.

3.    12 pts.

4-5. 10 pts.

6-8. 8 pts.

9-12. 6 pts.

13-16. 4 pts.

17-20. 2 pts.

Consider the top ranked athletes and add up their score from the sheet above. Divide the sum by 24, this will be the race score. If the result is 1.5 or less, the race gets scored 1.5. If the result is 5 or more than the race is scored 5.

An example:

Let's assume a race with 300 participants, a prize of 6000 USD, 35 nations participating. Top ranked men from last year's placement from places: 1st, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 11th, and 17th; top ranked women 2nd, 5th and 9th.

Ranking of the race: 5.48+2.58+3+2.83=13.89
